Job summary

Allianz Technology seeks a hybrid Data Architect and Data Engineer to design scalable data models and build end-to-end data pipelines within the OneDIA ecosystem. The role combines hands‑on engineering with architecture governance, leveraging Snowflake, DBT, and AWS data services to migrate over 200 data products from legacy systems, while ensuring data quality and catalog integration.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience as Data Enginner.
• Experience with Snowflake, DBT (including GitHub), Agile delivery methodologies, AWS data services, IaaS, and container technologies.
• Proven experience in both Data Architecture and hands‑on Data Engineering roles.
• Strong expertise in data modelling, data warehouse architecture, and modern data platform design.
• Hands‑on experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations using DBT.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as AWS Step Functions and UC4.
• Experience with Data Catalog and Data Quality solutions, preferably IDMC.
• Experience in GenAI and Machine Learning;
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop customer‑specific data warehouses and data marts within the Consumption Layer using data from multiple sources.
• Develop, maintain, and orchestrate data pipelines, ensuring integration with the Data Catalog and validation of data quality and processing results.

About the Job

We are looking for a hybrid Data Architect and Data Engineer who combines strategic architecture expertise with hands‑on engineering capabilities. This role is balanced between designing scalable data solutions and implementing them. The successful candidate will define data architecture standards, data models, and governance practices while also actively building, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms. As part of the Allianz in Germany data ecosystem OneDIA, more than 200 data products need to be migrated from the legacy technology stack toward Snowflake and AWS.

What you do

• Design and create data models for all elements to be modelled (tables, data marts, data warehouses, etc.).
