Descripción de la vacante

Optima in Barcelona is seeking a Data Analyst to turn raw programmatic data into strategic decisions for our publisher portfolio. You will work daily with Business Development, Operations, and Demand to optimize yield and inform commercial actions, taking ownership from day one.

This role offers hands-on experience with the programmatic supply chain — SSPs, DSPs, header bidding, ads.txt — and the chance to become fluent in ad-tech data within a fast-growing team.

Formación

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency with office productivity tools; ability to adapt to new software and systems.
  • Proficiency in ad serving platforms.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding company and employee information.
  • Fluent in English.

Responsabilidades

  • Analyze prospective publishers: size revenue opportunity, model expected yield, and pressure-test assumptions before we commit.
  • Run deep-dive analyses on portfolio performance and translate findings into concrete recommendations.
  • Build and maintain metrics that define success and defend definitions when questioned.
  • Identify patterns across publishers: seasonality, demand-partner behavior, bid-density shifts, traffic-quality signals.
  • Monitor daily performance across the portfolio against targets (impressions, fill rate, CPM, CTR, viewability, revenue).
  • Troubleshoot delivery and discrepancy issues with internal teams and external partners.

Descripción del empleo

Embark on an exciting career journey with Optima, recognized as one of the 1000 fastest-growing companies in Europe. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Data Analyt to join our vibrant team.

About Us:

At Optima, we've had a front row seat to the fundamental changes of this industry we know and love. Whether it's a move from third-party data to first-party data, being ahead of the curve in programmatic, and preparing for a new cookieless world, we pride ourselves in removing the hassle. Our publishers can count on revenue streams that are optimized and predictable, so they can continue doing what they do best: inform and entertain global consumers.

Job Description

As a Data Analyst, you'll own the numbers behind our publisher portfolio. You'll turn raw programmatic data into decisions: which publishers to onboard, where revenue is leaking, which levers move yield, and what our commercial teams should do next.

This is a high-ownership role with direct, measurable impact on revenue. You'll work daily with Business Development, Operations, and Demand, and you'll build deep expertise in the programmatic supply chain — SSPs, DSPs, header bidding, ads.txt — from day one. If you want to become genuinely fluent in ad tech data, there are few faster ways to do it.

Responsibilities:
Analysis & insight
  • Analyze prospective publishers: size the revenue opportunity, model expected yield, and pressure-test assumptions before we commit
  • Run deep-dive analyses on portfolio performance — yield by placement, format, geo, device, and demand partner — and translate findings into concrete recommendations
  • Build and maintain the metrics that define how we measure success, and defend their definitions when they're questioned
  • Identify patterns across publishers that others miss: seasonality, demand-partner behavior, bid-density shifts, traffic-quality signals
Performance monitoring & optimization
  • Monitor daily performance across the portfolio (impressions, fill rate, CPM, CTR, viewability, revenue) against targets
  • Catch underperformance early, diagnose root causes with data rather than intuition, and make or recommend the adjustments that fix it
  • Troubleshoot delivery and discrepancy issues with internal teams and external partners, tracing numbers back through the stack to find where they diverge
Publisher onboarding, technical integration and account operations
  • Support technical setup of new publishers: ads.txt, ad tags, header bidding configuration, and QA before go-live
  • Assist the Business Development team with new-publisher onboarding and keep the new-business pipeline data accurate and up to date in our CRM
  • Support adoption of our sales tools and processes across the region
  • Own the integrity of our reporting layer: audit dashboards and data sources regularly, reconcile discrepancies between platforms, and elevate anomalies fast
  • Automate recurring reporting so the team spends its time on decisions, not on assembling spreadsheets
  • Produce clear, accurate performance reporting for publishers and internal stakeholders — and make sure the story the numbers tell is the right one
  • Surface insights and trends that feed commercial and product decisions
