OTIFYD is seeking a EU/UK based Cost Engineer to join the Project Controls team. The role focuses on budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting using SAP modules (CO/PS/MM) and Power BI.

You will work with project managers, procurement, finance, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure accurate and timely cost control, including EAC calculations and cost variances.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 5+ years in cost engineering, cost control, or project controls on large-scale projects.
• Strong SAP experience, preferably SAP CO, PS & MM.
• Excellent Excel skills and financial analysis.
• Experience with CAPEX projects and Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Professional certifications (AACE, CIMA, ACCA, RICS, APM) are a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
• Monitor actual costs, commitments, accruals, and expenditures against budgets.
• Create, maintain, and analyse cost data in SAP for POs and project transactions.
• Prepare monthly cost reports and variance analysis.
• Support cost-control decisions with project managers and finance teams.
• Track committed and actual costs and ensure accurate cost coding.
• Review purchase orders, invoices, goods receipts, and subcontractor costs.
• Coordinate with procurement and finance to resolve cost discrepancies.
• Assess cost impacts of scope changes and variations.
• Assist with budgeting and estimate-at-completion (EAC) calculations.
• Prepare executive dashboards summarising financial performance.

We are seeking a EU/UK based, detail-oriented and analytical Cost Engineer to join our Project Controls

team. The role requires strong experience with SAP, particularly in cost management,

purchase orders, commitments, actual costs, budgets, and financial reporting. The Cost

Engineer works closely with project managers, procurement, finance, engineering, and

commercial teams to ensure accurate and timely cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Budgeting & Cost Control & Reporting
• Develop and maintain project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
• Monitor actual costs, commitments, accruals, and expenditures against approved budgets.
• Use SAP to create, maintain, and analyse cost data, purchase orders, commitments, and project transactions.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, variance analysis, and cost forecasts.
• Support project managers with cost-control information and financial decision making.
• Track committed and actual costs and ensure accurate cost coding.
• Review purchase orders, invoices, goods receipts, and subcontractor costs.
• Coordinate with procurement and finance teams to resolve cost discrepancies.
• Support change management and assess the cost impact of project variations.
• Assist with budgeting, annual planning, and estimate-at-completion (EAC) calculations.
• Ensure compliance with company cost-control procedures and SAP processes
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost reports, including executive-level dashboards that summarise financial performance for stakeholders.

Change Management & Governance

• Lead the change control process, evaluating the cost impact of scope changes and variations and ensuring approvals are obtained.
• Work with procurement to align purchase orders with the cost structure, ensure timely ordering of materials, and validate supply chain data.
• Support contract management activities, including validating contractor payment applications and ensuring alignment with contract terms
• Embed a culture of good governance, ensuring all financial data complies with project policies and is audit-ready.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience & Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in cost engineering, cost control, or project controls roles on large-scale projects in sectors like construction, infrastructure, energy, or manufacturing.
• Strong practical experience with SAP, preferably SAP CO, PS & MM
• Good understanding of project cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Experience working with purchase orders, commitments, accruals, invoices, and actual costs.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with project, procurement, finance, and commercial teams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
• Experience with CAPEX projects, stage-gate governance, and understanding of the project lifecycle is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with project controls software (e.g., SAP) and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
• Deep understanding of cost engineering principles, Earned Value Management (EVM), forecasting techniques, and change management processes.
• Knowledge of SAP Project Systems (SAP PS) and Controlling (SAP CO).
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and influence stakeholders, including contractors and clients.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Certifications:

Professional certifications are a significant plus, such as AACE (Certified Cost Professional),

CIMA, ACCA, RICS, or APM.
