Avarda in Málaga is seeking a Core Ledger Specialist to join our platform team. You will define and document requirements for transaction processing and ledger logic to be delivered by external suppliers, and provide hands-on internal support across finance and operations.

You will verify supplier deliveries, test data integrity, and help with internal configuration of the core ledger platform while collaborating with QA, Product Management, and delivery partners.

Formación

• 4+ years of experience in financial or transactional systems, in a requirements, analysis, or configuration role.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping, financial transaction processing, or core banking systems.
• Experience writing clear, detailed requirements and acceptance criteria for systems delivered by external suppliers.
• Familiarity with relational databases and ability to query and analyse data (SQL).
• Solid understanding of how to verify and test complex system deliveries.

Responsabilidades

• Define and document clear, detailed requirements for transaction processing, balance management, and posting logic, to be delivered by external suppliers.
• Verify and regression test supplier deliveries to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all ledger operations.
• Collaborate with the Head of Core Ledger IT and suppliers on solution design and technical decisions.
• Investigate and resolve complex ledger-related incidents and data discrepancies, working with suppliers when needed.
• Maintain clear documentation, including requirements, data flows, test results, and runbooks.
• Support internal configuration of the core ledger platform.
• Provide hands-on internal support to other teams on ledger questions and issues.
• Support integration of new products and financial instruments into the ledger framework, working with suppliers and Product Management.
• Work closely with QA and the Delivery Manager to ensure supplier deliveries are well tested before approval.

We're looking for a skilled Core Ledger Specialist to join our platform team. Our team does not develop the core ledger systems ourselves — they are built and delivered by external suppliers. Your role is to understand the business and financial logic deeply, define and write clear requirements, verify and regression test what our suppliers deliver, and support internal configuration of the platform. A significant part of this role is providing hands‑on internal support to colleagues across the business who rely on the core ledger day to day — this is something all specialists in the team spend a lot of time on. This role calls for strong analytical and technical skills combined with a good understanding of how financial ledgers work.

You will join a small, close-knit team: today the Core Ledger team consists of a Head of Core Ledger IT, a Product Manager, and two Core Ledger Specialists (one of whom also carries delivery management responsibilities). This is a great opportunity to make a direct impact early on and help shape the team as it grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and document clear, detailed requirements for transaction processing, balance management, and posting logic, to be delivered by external suppliers

• Support integration of new products and financial instruments into the ledger framework, working with suppliers and Product Management
• Work closely with QA and the Delivery Manager to ensure supplier deliveries are well tested before approval

Qualifications And Experience

Desired Skills

• 4+ years of experience working with financial or transactional systems, in a requirements, analysis, or configuration role
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping, financial transaction processing, or core banking systems
• Experience writing clear, detailed requirements and acceptance chriteria for systems delivered by external suppliers
• Familiarity with relational databases and ability to query and analyse data (SQL)
• Solid understanding of how to verify and test complex system deliveries

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a regulated financial environment (banking, payments, BNPL)
• Knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
• Experience working with externally delivered or outsourced systems
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and structured test methodologies

Education

BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Languages

Fluent English is required for this role. Spanish and Swedish language is a plus.
