A popular hospitality firm in Spain is seeking an independent cook to prepare lunches and dinners while ensuring high-quality dishes and maintaining hygiene standards. The ideal candidate has a background in gastronomy, an intermediate level of English, and at least one year of industry experience. The position offers a competitive salary, accommodation assistance, and weekly payments. The candidate will work a flexible schedule, with potential hours ranging from 35 to 60 per week. Airfare costs are the candidate's responsibility.

The ideal person should have experience and know what is required of an independent cook within a kitchen. He or she will be in charge preparing lunches and dinners, will have to monitor the stock of products, and will constantly have to make sure their dishes are of the highest quality. Have at least an Intermediate or Upper-intermediate (B1-B2) level of English.

Your main functions

• Experience in cooking and is willing to support from the Chef to other colleagues in the kitchen.
• Flexibility and knows how to work under pressure at certain times.
• Priority over quality in preparations and hygiene.
• Can oversee the washing, cutting vegetables, cleaning, preparing some snack or preparing dishes, mise en place.
• Can assist the first chef or be responsible for their own section in the kitchen.

Requirements

• Have at least an Intermediate or Upper-intermediate (B1-B2) level of English.
• Studies in Gastronomy.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the gastronomy sector.

What do you get

• Contract through Dutch collective agreement.
• Salary from 13€ to 15,50 € gross per hour (+ 21 years old). From 2.140€ to 2.550€ gross x month. TIPS: 300€ net.
• Weekly salary payments.
• Accommodation in a sharing housing is organized by the hotel, restaurant, or establishment at a low cost, around 55€ - 65€ per week. Always close to the workplace.
• Minimum 2 meals are included in your work hours.
• Workweeks are an average of min. 35 and max. 60 hours (high season is always more than 40 hours per week).
• The working schedule will be provided by the restaurant / hotel.
• Subsidized Health Insurance: this legal requirement will be organized for you by our partners at the reduced rate of €33,50 € per week.
• On the island you can rent a bicycle relatively cheaply or the establishment can provide you one.
• Boat ticket: Paid by Job Adventure’s partners in the Netherlands.
• 8% holiday allowance.
• Help and assistance in Spanish throughout the process: communication, interviews, and information.
• A hostel´s night paid for us in Groningen. The following day our colleagues will stay with you to manage your BSN number at the city hall.
