Qualifications

• Experience in project planning and coordination.
• Ability to prepare, write and monitor budgets.
• Experience in basic accounting, data entry and financial acumen.
• Knowledge of risk management.
• Experience or affiliation with living off-grid or in remote locations and harsh conditions.
• Knowledge of producing grant applications and proposal writing.
• Experience in motivating people and engaging on environmental and social issues.
• Experience in building regenerative and just communities.
• Experience in NGO work, preferably in environmental sector.
• Good time management and ability to create schedules and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Leading members of the community in focus area activities, providing education to community members.
• Coordinating with other areas to align with overarching objectives.
• Having financial responsibility for the project: planning ahead, budgeting and tracking progress.
• Being available 24 hours to attend to emergencies.
• Handling disputes and negotiating mutually favourable solutions.
• Creating a collective vision for Sunseed and evaluating it for achievability.
• Developing methods to measure progress and performance of the project.
• Developing and following processes for record-keeping, budgeting and legal reporting as an association.
• Writing department and organisation-level reports and forward-looking plans.
• Liaising with neighbours and expanding inter-village collaboration and community building.
• Strengthening Sunseed networks in activism, research and environmental justice.
