Airbus Defence and Space SAU is seeking a Commodity Manager in Getafe (Madrid) to join the Strategic Sourcing Team. The role focuses on end-to-end strategic sourcing, TCO reductions, risk mitigation, and building high-value partnerships to support long-term goals.

The candidate will design category strategies, lead negotiations, manage SRM, and work with multiple departments to integrate business needs into sourcing plans, with a hybrid working model where possible.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in strategic category management, global sourcing, and complex contract negotiation.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership with ability to influence across org.
• Advanced English language proficiency.
• Strong data-driven decision-making and analytics skills.

An opportunity for a Commodity Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Strategic Sourcing Team. The department is in charge of orchestrating and executing end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned product categories or service groups. The team is multicultural, multidisciplinary, and works in close contact with multiple departments. The jobholder will reinforce our Procurement organization, taking part in driving total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions, mitigating supply chain risks, and ensuring uncompromising quality standards to foster high-value strategic partnerships that align with the organization's long-term business goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement comprehensive, long-term category strategies and sourcing roadmaps aligned with corporate financial and operational objectives.
• Lead complex, high-stakes negotiations regarding pricing, contractual terms, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to deliver measurable cost savings.
• Manage supplier relationships (SRM) by identifying, vetting, and onboarding best-in-class suppliers, driving continuous improvement through rigorous performance reviews.
• Conduct deep-dive market intelligence and analysis to anticipate price volatility, commodity trends, and macroeconomic shifts.
• Proactively mitigate supply chain risks by implementing robust contingency plans to ensure business continuity and supply security.
• Act as a strategic partner and lead cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Quality, Finance, Programs, and Operations to integrate business needs into the sourcing strategy.

SKILLS

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Proven track record and solid experience in strategic category management, global sourcing, and complex contract negotiation.
• Soft skills: Exceptional negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities, with a high adaptability to influence at all organizational levels and work in a networking mode.
• Languages: Advanced level in English.
• Technical knowledge: Advanced proficiency in data-driven decision-making and the use of advanced analytical tools for supply chain market analysis.
