Job summary

OUTRIGO INTERNATIONAL SL in Santa Oliva, Tarragona, is seeking a CNC Machinist Specialist to lead and set up our machining area, producing precision parts from Inconel 718, titanium and hardened steels.

You will own CAM programming, fixture design, machine setup, verification of parts, and process improvements within a small engineering team, with full autonomy and strong focus on traceability and ISO quality.

Qualifications

• FP de Grado Superior in Production Programming for Mechanical Manufacturing or equivalent
• 5 years of experience as CNC programmer/operator, including 2+ years in 5-axis milling or mill-turn
• Proven experience machining difficult materials: Inconel, titanium or hardened stainless steels
• Proficiency in CAM software (Siemens NX, hyperMILL, Mastercam, Fusion 360 or similar) and controls (Heidenhain, Siemens Sinumerik or Fanuc)
• Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
• Hands-on use of measuring instruments (micrometers, bore gauges, go/no-go gauges, surface roughness testers)
• Experience designing fixtures and workholding for complex parts
• Rigour in traceability and quality documentation
• Autonomy and ability to propose process improvements

Responsibilities

• Machine setup and operation: setting, tool presetting, offsets and first-part prove-out
• Finish machining of Inconel 718 and Ti-6Al-4V: H7/f7 fits, reaming, thread milling, Ra 1.6
• Tooling selection and parameter optimisation to reduce cycle times
• Dimensional inspection with shop-floor instruments and FAI reports
• Documentation of processes and routing sheets within ISO 9001 quality system
• Basic and preventive machine maintenance and area safety (5S)
• Time and cost estimates for quotations with engineering team

CNC Machinist Specialist

We are seeking a CNC Machinist Specialist to set up and lead our machining area in Santa Oliva (Tarragona), producing precision parts in superalloys (Inconel 718), titanium and steels.

You will be the go-to person for machining, from the CAM program and fixture design through to verification of the finished part, with real autonomy within a small engineering team. Outrigo International is an engineering consultancy with roots in the automotive sector and an in-house metal additive manufacturing service. We manufacture high-performance functional components with full traceability and quality control in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 [and EN 9100: CONFIRM].

Responsibilities / What you will do

• CAM programming for 3+2 and 5-axis milling and turning from 3D models and drawings with geometric tolerances (GD&T, ISO 1101).
• Design and manufacture of fixtures: soft jaws, expanding mandrels and custom workholding for parts with delicate geometries.
• Machine setup and operation: setting, tool presetting, work offsets and first-part prove-out.
• Finish machining of aged Inconel 718 (≈ 40–44 HRC) and Ti-6Al-4V: H7/f7 fits, reaming, thread milling and Ra 1.6 surface finishes.
• Selection of tooling and cutting parameters, and tool life monitoring to optimise cycle times and costs.
• Dimensional inspection with shop-floor instruments, First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and inspection records traceable by serial number.
• Finishing and protection: deburring, cleaning of internal volumes and protection of critical surfaces.
• Time and cost estimates for quotations, together with the engineering team.
• Basic and preventive machine maintenance, and housekeeping and safety of the area (5S).
• Documentation of processes and routing sheets within the ISO 9001 quality system.

Experience / Who you are

• Higher Vocational Training (FP de Grado Superior) in Production Programming for Mechanical Manufacturing, or equivalent qualification.
• 5 years of experience as a CNC programmer/operator, including at least 2 years in 5-axis milling or mill-turn machining.
• Proven experience machining difficult materials: Inconel, titanium or hardened stainless steels.
• Proficiency in at least one CAM software (Siemens NX, hyperMILL, Mastercam, Fusion 360 or similar) and in Heidenhain, Siemens Sinumerik or Fanuc controls.
