Job summary

Theisen's Home-Farm-Auto is seeking a Sales Associate in Ames to perform general sales duties in the assigned department and assist in other areas as needed. You will greet customers, help them find merchandise, explain benefits and features, and support checkout tasks to ensure a positive shopping experience.

The ideal candidate has 3–12 months retail experience, a valid driver's license, and strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3-12 months retail experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Good customer service skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to answer phones and learn cash register functions.
• Familiar with forklift and pallet jack operations is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service.
• Approach customers storewide and guide them to merchandise.
• Explain benefits and features of merchandise and suggest add-ons.
• Maintain knowledge of products and shelves.
• Compute price quotes and handle orders and follow up on special orders.
• Assist at checkout and with carryouts.
• Maintain shelf tagging and displays.
• Receive shipments and price/tag items.
• Restock shelves and set up displays.
• Assist with transfers and store tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to brand standards.
