Job summary

Amuse Animation, an on-site studio based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, seeks a Storyboard Artist to translate scripts into readable, production-ready storyboard sequences. You will work with Directors, Storyboard Leads, and other departments to ensure strong visual storytelling and consistency across the production.

The role requires autonomous work from script to final storyboard, a solid background in animation, and proficiency with Storyboard Pro.

Qualifications

• Strong drawing skills including figure drawing, anatomy, perspective, and composition.
• Strong understanding of cinematic language, acting, staging, pacing, and shot composition.
• Professional experience in animation or related field.
• Proficient with Storyboard Pro or equivalent tools.

Responsibilities

• Storyboard Creation: Create complete storyboard sequences communicating story, acting, staging, camera language, and pacing.
• Visual Storytelling: Make creative decisions on composition, staging, camera angles, acting, and shot progression.
• Scene Breakdown: Interpret scripts and identify effective visual approaches to communicate beats and emotion.
• Character Acting: Create expressive performances aligned with project tone and style.
• Camera & Cinematography: Apply cinematic principles for composition, transitions, staging, and rhythm.
• Applying Feedback: Interpret notes from Directors and Supervisors and maintain creative intent.
• Continuity: Ensure visual continuity across scenes including positions, direction, props, and environments.
• Pipeline Adherence: Deliver work per production standards and schedules.
• Collaboration: Work with Storyboard, Layout, Animation, Design, and Production teams.
• Problem Solving: Identify and propose solutions to storytelling or production issues.
