Job Purpose

Responsible for the performance and organization during the shift. May accept laboratory analysis and related assignments - when required - and ensures timely delivery of laboratory reports by coordinating and managing the complete workflow.

General Responsibilities
  • Assist Laboratory Manager and / or Branch Manager in their responsibilities at the location.
  • Organize all department processes and personnel efficiently during shifts to meet client needs accurately and timely.
  • Manage operations cost-effectively while ensuring safety, quality, employee satisfaction, and asset maintenance.
  • Follow all company procedures, including HSE Manual, Accounting Policies, Saybolt Administration, IT procedures, Ethics Policy, and Compliance Code.
  • Report directly to Laboratory Manager, Assistant Branch Manager, and/or Branch Manager.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
  • Minimum professional certificate related to chemistry/laboratory or a relevant university degree; or 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of petrochemical products, chemicals, gases, or agricultural products.
  • Proficiency in local language and English.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office, company systems).
  • Leadership and team-building skills, good communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, positive, problem-solving, and analytical.
  • Ability to coordinate teamwork and communicate effectively with managers and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, monitor timelines, and communicate with clients.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of laboratory reports.
  • Participate in safety meetings, investigate accidents, and promote safety culture.
  • Assist in reviewing staff expenses, time records, and incentives.
  • Ensure safety instructions are followed and safety regulations are maintained.
  • Follow IATA requirements for sample transportation.
  • Communicate complaints and claims promptly.
  • Organize staff meetings and prepare training presentations as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of analysis and safety standards in English.
  • Assist in setting up and implementing new methods and applications.
  • Complete laboratory data sheets accurately and maintain records per quality assurance standards.
  • Perform complex calculations related to analytical testing.

  • Valid driving license required.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to accept additional duties as assigned.
  • Willingness to perform analytical work safely and according to standards.
Work Environment

Regular exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise levels are usually moderate.
