Barry Callebaut Group in Gurb, Spain, seeks a Buyer Indirect Spend to lead indirect procurement across local plant(s), handling Opex and Capex and driving cost savings. You will develop sourcing strategies, negotiate terms, and manage supplier performance while building a high-performing team.

You will collaborate with engineering and operations, monitor KPIs, ensure risk mitigation, and promote procurement best practices in a multi-site environment. Fluent English required.

Qualifications

• Fluent English (spoken and written) required.
• 7+ years in procurement or strategic sourcing, indirect spend focus.
• Experience managing sourcing across technical categories including CapEx, MRO, utilities, and civil works.
• Proven success in leading sourcing projects, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
• Experience in capital equipment procurement with RFI/RFP processes and TCO insights.
• Industry experience in food processing, pharmaceuticals, or chemicals desirable.
• Familiarity with digital procurement tools and data-driven decision making.

• Manage supplier performance, track procurement KPIs, and drive cost optimization and risk mitigation.

About The Role

As the Buyer Indirect Spend, you will lead all indirect procurement activities across the local plant(s), covering both Opex and Capex spend. You will drive strategic sourcing initiatives and day-to-day purchasing operations, working closely with category managers and stakeholders to deliver cost-effective solutions aligned with business objectives. The role also includes leading and developing a team of buyers, managing supplier performance, driving savings initiatives, and ensuring continuous improvement, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.

About You

• Fluent English (both spoken and written) required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, with a focus on indirect spend, including technical categories such as CapEx, MRO, utilities, and civil works.
• Proven experience in managing sourcing activities across technical categories
• Demonstrated success in leading sourcing projects, supplier negotiations, and contract management in a multi-site or matrixed environment.
• Experience in capital equipment procurement, including RFI/RFP processes, cost analysis, and supplier evaluation with solid understanding of procurement processes and total cost of ownership
• Prior experience in industries such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, or chemicals is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with digital procurement tools (e.g., Coupa, Maximo, SAP) and data-driven decision-making.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of technical specifications and the ability to collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize sourcing outcomes.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams.
• Results-driven and analytical professional with a hands-on approach, focused on continuous improvement and delivering business value.
