Descripción del empleo

JDL Recruitment are thrilled to be partnered with a leading global industrial & logistics developer as they continue to expand their footprint and development pipeline across Spain and Catalonia.

We’re seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (Land Acquisition & Development) to drive the sourcing, evaluation, and securing of strategic sites for industrial, logistics, and data centre developments. This role leads the full front‑end cycle — from identifying land opportunities and initiating contact with landlords and brokers, through feasibility analysis, due diligence, permitting pathways, and commercial negotiation — ensuring a robust and high‑quality pipeline that supports long‑term regional growth.

This is a pivotal position within the development team, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders, local authorities, and potential customers. You will shape early‑stage product strategy, influence design decisions, and support commercialisation efforts to maximise value creation on every project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source, assess, and secure land opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic development plan.
  • Serve as primary contact for landlords, owners, and brokers; lead feasibility assessments and prepare offers.
  • Manage the full acquisition process, including due diligence, risk evaluation, and negotiation of purchase agreements.
  • Support product definition and concept design to optimise value and ensure market fit for each site.
  • Generate leads and expand networks with landlords, occupiers, municipalities, and wider industry players.
  • Drive the full commercialisation cycle: lead generation, client proposals, profitability analysis, solution presentation, lease negotiations, and contract closing.
  • Liaise with public authorities and agencies regarding zoning, permitting, planning, environmental matters, utilities, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor execution of urban development agreements and neighbouring contracts.
  • Represent the business at stakeholder meetings to ensure strong communication flow, problem‑solving, and coordinated decision‑making.
  • Provide regular updates and accurate reporting on acquisition progress and pipeline health.
  • Conduct ongoing market research on competitors, occupier trends, and emerging development themes (e.g. multilevel logistics, data centres, SME parks, net‑zero facilities).
Experience & Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in civil, building, industrial engineering, urban planning, architecture, or equivalent by experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in land sourcing and land due diligence, ideally within industrial or retail real estate.
  • Strong technical and risk‑management background.
  • In‑depth knowledge of zoning, permitting, town planning, building codes, and environmental regulations.
  • Proven expertise in site selection, feasibility, and validation.
  • Ability to lead and progress multiple early‑stage projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation capabilities.
