Our client, a Y-Combinator-backed, category-defining startup in logistics technology, is seeking a driven Business Development Manager (Individual Contributor) to spearhead market penetration and commercial development across Iberia and France.
This role operates as the Business Development Lead for your region. You will have full ownership of the commercial cycle, acting as a highly experienced "hunter" who not only closes deals but also collaborates on technical solutions and ensures early customer success. You will manage the entire commercial function for the region until revenue milestones are achieved, at which point you will begin to build and manage your own sales team.
Commercial Ownership (Full Cycle): Own the entire sales cycle for the Spanish and French markets—from pipeline generation and qualification through to contract negotiation and closing complex B2B SaaS deals with shippers and carriers.
Pipeline Generation: Strategically drive and accelerate pipeline growth through a mix of methods: leveraging support from dedicated SDRs, activating partner channels, and executing high-volume, self-led outbound initiatives.
Solution Design & Pre-Sales: Actively partner with our Solutions Lead on pre-sales engagements, ensuring the platform solution is accurately designed, scoped, and presented to address complex customer operational requirements.
Early Customer Success: Oversee the initial customer onboarding phase and ensure rapid, measurable early success with new clients, establishing strong relationships for long-term retention.
Future Team Building: Build and manage your own regional Business Development/Sales team as the region achieves key revenue milestones, transitioning into a leadership role over time.
Territory Strategy & Reporting: Define and execute the commercial strategy for your region, maintaining meticulous, accurate forecasting and pipeline records in the CRM for the Head of Commercial.
Experience: 4+ years of successful, full-cycle B2B SaaS sales experience in a high-ownership, individual contributor role. Experience in a high-growth startup environment is highly preferred.
Domain Expertise: Proven experience selling complex technology solutions specifically within the SaaS Logistics, Supply Chain, or Distribution industry is required.
Language Fluency (Required): Native or highly fluent in Spanish and French (both written and verbal) to effectively manage prospects and conduct negotiations in both key markets.
Consultative Acumen: Demonstrated ability to navigate complex enterprise sales cycles, engaging C-level, Operations, and IT stakeholders with a consultative, value-based approach.
Language Plus: Fluency or professional working proficiency in Portuguese is a significant advantage.
Solution Experience: Direct experience collaborating with technical teams (e.g., Solutions Architects or Pre-Sales Engineers) on custom solution design.
