Job summary

UIC Barcelona seeks a candidate for a part-time teaching and research position in the Engineering/Rapid Prototyping area. The role requires a PhD in engineering and will involve delivering bachelor’s and master’s level teaching across several knowledge areas at the Health Sciences Campus in Sant Cugat del Vallès.

The successful candidate will lead programme management and coordination, and participate in additional academic tasks as assigned by the Department of Bioengineering.

Qualifications

• PhD in engineering as required.
• Areas of knowledge include materials science, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, industrial and mechanical engineering.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a candidate in the area Engineering/Rapid prototyping with a PhD in engineering, mainly in the following fields but not limited to: materials science, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, industrial and mechanical engineering, who will be required to teach the following areas of knowledge: biomedical systems prototyping, graphic expression techniques, forming technology, Phyton, Modelling.

The selection process at UIC Barcelona includes:

Pre-selection Phase

An independent committee, composed of both internal and external experts, will evaluate all applications received. Its role is to identify the candidates who best match the required profile and to determine who will advance to the next stage of the process.

Evaluation Panel Phase

Finalist candidates will be required to deliver a public oral presentation before an evaluation panel. This panel consists of two external faculty members and one internal member. The presentation must cover the candidate’s academic background—including research, teaching, and management experience. Following the presentation, the panel will ask questions to complete the evaluation. The total duration of this session will be 60 minutes.

Supplementary Evaluation Phase

Top-ranked candidates will proceed to a second stage, which may consist of an interview with members of the Faculty Board or a research seminar. In any case, candidates will be notified well in advance.
