Seqera is seeking a Bioinformatics Engineer to join its Scientific Engagement team. You will be the technical face to some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical organizations, balancing deep computational work with real customer relationships across Seqera Platform, Nextflow, Studios, Fusion and Wave.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Hands-on Nextflow pipeline development (nf-core or custom) experience.
• Proficient in Linux CLI and scripting with Bash and/or Python.
• Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization.
• Experience with Git/GitHub for code management.
• Strong customer-oriented mindset and relationship-building skills.

Responsabilidades

• Act as a trusted technical partner to Seqera’s enterprise customers across big pharma, building relationships and driving adoption of Seqera products.
• Deploy and scale Seqera products in customer environments across cloud and HPC, troubleshooting technical challenges with scientists and engineers.
• Support the health of strategic accounts, surfacing risks early and driving retention and expansion.
• Deliver scoped technical work through Services engagements such as onboarding, pipeline optimization, and best-practice guidance.
• Run and support customer touchpoints including technical syncs, product upgrades, proofs of concept, and workshops.
• Explain technical concepts clearly across audiences from DevOps to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the wider Customer Experience team and with Product and R&D to voice customer needs.
• Contribute to the team’s engagement tooling and knowledge base.

About the role

As a Bioinformatics Engineer on our Scientific Engagement team, you will be the technical face of Seqera to some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical organizations, the trusted partner they turn to for expertise on our products.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for an early-career bioinformatician who wants to combine deep technical work with real customer relationships. You will work across a portfolio of strategic accounts and alongside the wider Customer Experience, Product, and R&D teams, and with mentorship from senior engineers you will grow into independent ownership of your own accounts over time.

What You'll Do

• Act as a trusted technical partner to a portfolio of Seqera’s largest enterprise customers across big pharma, building strong relationships and driving engagement and adoption of our products (Seqera Platform, Nextflow, Studios, Fusion, and Wave).

• Work directly inside customer environments to help them deploy, scale, and get value from Seqera products across cloud and HPC, troubleshooting real technical challenges alongside their scientists and engineers.

• Support the health of strategic accounts, helping to drive retention and expansion by surfacing risks early, demonstrating ongoing value, and working closely with the account and commercial teams.

• Deliver scoped technical work through Services engagements with these accounts, such as onboarding, pipeline optimization, custom workflow support, and best-practice guidance.

• Run and support customer touchpoints including technical syncs, product upgrades, proofs of concept, and workshops, building deep product expertise to give clear, credible guidance.

• Explain technical concepts and communicate findings clearly across the full range of customer audiences, from DevOps and technical teams to bioinformaticians, wet-lab users, and senior stakeholders.

• Collaborate across the wider Customer Experience team (Pre-Sales, Services, and Support) and partner with Product and R&D, acting as the voice of the customer to help shape the roadmap.

• Contribute to the team’s engagement tooling and knowledge base, helping to track account health and move the team toward more proactive, data-driven customer engagement.

About you

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Hands-on experience developing and running Nextflow pipelines (nf-core and/or custom) in an academic or professional setting.

• Comfortable working in a Linux command-line environment and scripting with Bash and/or Python.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), with a willingness to go deeper.

• Experience using Git/GitHub for code management.

• A genuine customer-oriented attitude: you enjoy building relationships, understanding what customers need, and helping them succeed.

• Self-motivated and a proactive thinker who can work independently and as part of a team, comfortable juggling multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-moving environment.

• Great interpersonal and communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to scientists, engineers, and less technical stakeholders.

• A critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.

• Creativity and curiosity across all the solutions you provide to clients.

Nice to have

• Experience working directly with enterprise customers, ideally in pharma, biotech, or life sciences.

• Exposure to NGS and other omics data types (e.g. RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, genomics) and common bioinformatics tools.

• Familiarity with how HPC schedulers (e.g. Slurm) or cloud batch systems work.

• Experience delivering scoped professional or expert services engagements.

• Use of AI tools, frameworks, or workflows in a bioinformatics or software-development context.

• Awareness of working in GxP or other regulated environments
