Job summary

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona, Spain, seeks a Bioinformatician to support high-throughput sequencing workflows within the Bioinformatics Unit. You will help ensure data processing quality, implement reproducible analyses, and liaise with genomics and bioinformatics teams to evaluate new sequencing technologies.

Applicants should have strong experience with omics data, R/Python, workflow systems, and container technologies, and must communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• Understanding of experimental design and statistics relevant to high-throughput sequencing data.
• Experience analysing omics data such as RNA-seq, WGS/WES, or single-cell sequencing data.
• Ability to interpret analysis results in a biological context and identify biases.
• Proficiency in R and/or Python, with Bash knowledge.
• Experience with workflow management systems such as Nextflow, Snakemake, or similar.
• Experience with Git for version control and collaborative development.
• Comfortable working in Linux/Unix and HPC environments.
• Understanding of reproducibility and best practices in scientific computing.
• Basic experience with container technologies such as Docker or Singularity/Apptainer.
• Experience collaborating with researchers to define analytical approaches and interpret results.
• Experience providing training and user support.
