Mentor Talent Acquisition is seeking a Backend Python Developer to build scalable backend services and APIs, focusing on Python, data pipelines, and LLM‑powered features.

The role blends backend engineering with data engineering across AWS, SQL, ETL/ELT pipelines and modern infra like Docker, Kubernetes, GraphQL and Terraform. Remote option with quarterly Vienna office weeks; based in Almería, Spain.

Formación

• Strong backend development skills with Python and API design principles.
• Experience building and operating production software.
• Strong SQL knowledge and data pipeline experience.
• Experience with AWS and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment.
• Exposure to GraphQL or Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Knowledge of dimensional modelling/Medallion Architecture is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Backend Engineering: design, build and maintain scalable backend services using Python.
• Develop new product features and reusable backend architectures.
• Improve system performance, reliability, security and maintainability.
• Integrate LLMs into existing products, workflows, backend services and data systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Frontend and other engineers.
• Write clean, well-tested and well-documented code.
• Show strong Python programming and production software experience.
• Follow OO design and software development principles.
• Work with SQL and AWS data services.
• Build/maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and analytical data stores.
• Leverage Docker/Kubernetes and IaC tools as needed.
• Explore GraphQL or Terraform for infra and APIs.
• Work with ClickHouse/Redshift or similar databases.
• Be ready to grow from backend into data engineering.

The company is looking for a Backend Engineer to help connect its backend and data infrastructure with LLM‑powered features, agents and self‑service capabilities. This role is primarily backend‑focused: designing and building scalable services, APIs and business logic using Python. Experience with data engineering (ETL/ELT pipelines, AWS data services, dimensional modelling) is a strong advantage and something the team will actively help develop further, but it is not a requirement. What matters most is strong backend engineering fundamentals combined with curiosity and a genuine interest in eventually working across data and AI product engineering as well. Backend and Data Engineering work closely together at the company, and engineers benefit from understanding both worlds. Someone who comes in strong on backend will be supported in growing into data engineering over time.

• Familiarity with GraphQL or Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with ClickHouse, Redshift or other analytical databases.
• Being strong in both backend and data engineering from day one isn't required - what matters most is bringing strong backend fundamentals and motivation to grow.
