Remobi LTD. seeks a senior backend engineer to stabilise and extend the Medusa backend for a European, fully remote setup.

You will connect Medusa to SAP, Salesforce and Snowflake, manage AWS infrastructure, and build AI agents to automate business processes. Collaborate with Flutter frontend and QA, plus an external supplier, and engage with business stakeholders directly.

Qualifications

• Senior backend experience building production services in Node.js/TypeScript.
• Medusa (ideally v2) customization and Admin work.
• ERP/CRM integration experience with SAP/Salesforce is ideal.
• B2B commerce knowledge including pricing and approvals.
• DevOps experience on AWS with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.

About the role

Our client, a global industrial technology company, runs a B2B e-commerce platform and smart product catalogue built on Medusa, the open-source headless commerce engine. The backend is currently delivered by an external supplier, and the client is now building its own in-house backend capability to take ownership of the platform.

You will be a key part of that shift. You will stabilise and extend the Medusa backend, connect it reliably to a complex landscape of SAP, Salesforce and Snowflake systems, run its AWS infrastructure, and build AI agents that automate business processes. You will work alongside an in-house Flutter frontend and QA team and the existing backend supplier, and directly with business stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Stabilise system integrations: Make the Medusa integration layer robust across 40+ SAP systems, Salesforce and Snowflake, so the data reaching the web and mobile frontends is reliable. This is the first priority.
• Own and evolve the Medusa backend: Build custom modules, data models, module links, API routes and workflows, and extend the Medusa Admin, which serves as the business's back office for contracts, customer product access and product content.
• Implement B2B commerce logic: Company accounts, customer groups, customer-specific pricing and product entitlements, quotes, approval flows and bulk ordering.
• Bring business processes into the platform: Work with business teams to replace Excel- and Word-based processes and disconnected SAP/Salesforce data with unified workflows in the product catalogue.
• Build AI agents: Design and deploy agents in the platform's in-house agent suite on Google Vertex AI, for example agents that read and process customer PDF documents through the catalogue.
• Run DevOps and infrastructure: Deploy, operate and scale Medusa on AWS (EC2), including PostgreSQL, Redis, server and worker instances, and the CI/CD pipelines behind them.
• Take over from the external supplier: Build knowledge of the existing codebase and progressively bring backend ownership in-house.
• Collaborate across the stack: Align Medusa's Store and Admin APIs with the Flutter web/mobile frontend and with operational needs.
• Keep quality and security high: Write clean, modular, well-tested code and apply strict data security and protection standards.

What you bring

• Senior backend experience: Several years building production backend services in Node.js/TypeScript, with strong PostgreSQL skills.
• Medusa expertise: Hands-on production experience with Medusa (ideally v2), including custom modules, the workflows SDK with compensation logic, subscribers, plugins and Admin customisations.
• Enterprise integration: Proven experience integrating e-commerce platforms with ERP and CRM systems, ideally SAP and Salesforce, using REST/GraphQL APIs and event-driven, asynchronous processing.
• B2B e-commerce knowledge: A solid grasp of B2B commerce logic such as account hierarchies, contract pricing and approvals.
• AWS and DevOps: Practical experience deploying and running services on AWS (EC2), Docker, infrastructure as code and CI/CD. Experience running Medusa in separate server and worker modes is a strong plus.
• AI and agents: Experience building LLM-based workflows or AI agents; exposure to Google Vertex AI is a plus.
• Business-facing communication: Comfortable working directly with non-technical stakeholders to map and simplify their processes.
• Ownership mindset: Able to take over an inherited codebase, work alongside a third-party supplier, and drive towards in-house ownership.
