Job summary

Tether is seeking an Automation QA Engineer to own desktop and mobile test automation and perform manual/exploratory testing across its platforms. The role collaborates with developers and product teams to ensure quality, reliability, and fast feedback on new features.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in QA, strong TS/JS, and hands-on experience with Playwright, WebdriverIO + Appium, plus familiarity with Electron or React Native apps on real devices. Remote work with global teams is available.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in QA automation and manual/exploratory testing.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience running tests in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Hands-on experience with Playwright for desktop/web and WebdriverIO + Appium for mobile.
• Experience testing Electron and/or React Native apps on iOS/Android devices.
• Experience using AI tools in QA and evaluating their outputs.

We’re looking for an Automation QA Engineer with strong automation skills who also takes ownership of manual testing for our desktop and mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain desktop and mobile test automation for critical user flows.


• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and keep them fast and reliable.


• Investigate failures, fix flaky tests, and manage test data and environments


• Report clear, reproducible bugs and verify fixes


• Work with developers and product on testability and acceptance criteria


• Perform hands-on functional, exploratory, and regression testing of new features


• Choose manual or automated coverage based on risk; maintain regression suites.

Mandatory:

• 4+ years in QA automation, plus hands-on manual and exploratory testing experience.


• Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript.


• Experience running tests in CI/CD pipelines (for example, GitHub Actions).


• Hands-on experience with Playwright for desktop or web, and WebdriverIO + Appium for mobile.


• Experience testing Electron and/or React Native apps, including on real iOS and Android devices.


• Experience using AI tools in QA and critically reviewing their output. Testing AI-powered applications is a plus.
