A European rating agency is seeking a Credit Rating Analyst based in Madrid, Spain. The role involves leading the credit rating process for European corporates, monitoring ratings, and presenting findings to senior professionals. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience, ideally in credit risk analysis, and strong proficiency in financial statement analysis, alongside advanced Excel skills. Fluency in English is required, with French and Portuguese being an asset.

Full service European rating agency. Focused on middle market corporate, project finance, structured finance, financial entities and sovereign debt ratings. The company is part of the French Ethifinance Group which, apart from credit ratings, provides a wide range of financial services including ESG ratings, ESG consulting, High Yield Bonds market analysis, modeling and other analytic tools. As a credit rating analyst, you will be responsible for leading primarily the credit rating process of European corporates (full analysis process including an in-depth analysis of the quantitative and qualitative variables of a company) that results in a comprehensive rating report that you will present to the rating committee. You must be available to travel across Europe (mainly Spain, France & Portugal) and feel comfortable leading meetings with Senior‑level professionals (mainly CFOs).

The position also requires monitoring a portfolio of credit ratings and taking rating actions when warranted, in agreement with your manager.

CFA, MBA and technical backgrounds (math, engineering) valued positively.

Between 3 and 5 years of experience, preferably as a credit risk analyst in a bank, credit rating agency, asset manager etc.

Strong understanding of financial statement analysis.

Advanced / Fluent English both written and spoken. French and / or Portuguese is a plus.
