TomTom is seeking an Applied Scientist to shape how AI understands and uses TomTom’s location data. You will develop ML models and design systems letting LLMs reason over maps, traffic, POIs and routing, turning product questions into well-defined scientific problems with rigorous evaluation.

You will collaborate with AI and software engineers to bring solutions from prototype to production, balancing accuracy, latency, cost and scalability, while staying current with the latest research in

Formación

• Strong foundations in machine learning, deep learning, statistics and optimization.
• Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed computing.
• Proven ability to design experiments, define metrics and draw conclusions from data.

Responsabilidades

• Design LLM data interfaces and retrieval strategies for structured and geospatial data.
• Develop representations for geospatial entities and knowledge graphs.
• Define evaluation metrics, benchmarks and datasets for location-grounded tasks.
• Research, train and fine-tune ML models including LLMs, CV, time-series and graph methods.
• Turn product questions into well-defined scientific problems with clear success metrics.
• Write production-quality code and collaborate with engineers to deploy solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with SOTA in LLMs, retrieval and agentic systems.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
