Job summary

Qonto is seeking an AML Officer to protect customers from money laundering and terrorist financing. You will investigate complex alerts, enforce controls, and lead projects to optimize AML procedures within a dynamic European fintech environment.

You will work with a diverse European team, applying your AML expertise and coaching skills to enhance detection, reporting, and collaboration with regulators and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in transaction monitoring and AML/CFT, ideally in bank or fintech.
• Solid knowledge of sanctions, embargoes and terrorism financing.
• Fluent in French and English for cross‑border collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complex alerts: handle transaction monitoring alerts and SARs, about 25 alerts per day.
• Conduct first-level controls and internal checks to ensure procedures are followed.
• Identify gaps in processes and lead projects to improve daily operations.
• Coach the team: share expertise on complex cases, including sanctions and terrorism financing.
• Be the point of contact for internal teams, auditors, and regulators when needed.

Join our French AML team as an AML Officer and help protect Qonto and its customers from money laundering and terrorist financing. You’ll investigate complex alerts and help refine our controls, under the guidance of Amilcar, our Senior Lead AML/CFT.

What You’ll Do

• Investigate complex alerts: You handle transaction monitoring alerts and suspicious activity reports, around 25 alerts a day.
• Control quality: You run first-level controls and internal checks to make sure the team’s work follows our procedures.
• Improve how we work: You spot gaps in our processes and lead projects that make daily operations more efficient.
• Coach the team: You act as a go‑to referent and share your expertise on complex cases, from sanctions to terrorism financing.
• Be our voice on complex topics: You’re the reliable contact for internal teams, and for auditors and regulators when needed.

What We’re Looking For

• AML/CFT experience: You have 1–3 years in transaction monitoring and AML/CFT, ideally in a bank or fintech, with solid knowledge of sanctions, embargoes and terrorism financing.
• An improvement mindset: You spot bottlenecks, challenge processes and run improvement projects.
• A coaching instinct: You enjoy sharing what you know and helping colleagues grow.
• AI fluency: You use AI in your investigation work and know where it helps.
• Fluent French and English: You work with our European team and with French authorities in both languages.

Your future manager

You’ll report to Amilcar, Senior Lead AML/CFT. With a background in commercial law and compliance (Sciences Po), he’s an expert in key compliance risks including AML, terrorism financing, sanctions and enhanced due diligence.
