Biorce, Barcelona hub, is seeking a Mid-Level AI Engineer to advance our AI and Data engineering initiatives from our Barcelona hub. You will report to AI/Engineering leadership and contribute to building sophisticated AI systems beyond chat interfaces.

You will design agentic workflows, manage complex state in LLM applications, and ensure generative features are reliable, steerable, and scalable through strong software engineering practices.

Formación

• 2+ years in software/ML engineering with hands-on LLM deployments.
• Experience with orchestration tools (LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, Vertex AI Agent Builder).
• Experience with GCP ecosystem: Vertex AI Studio, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Storage.
• Advanced RAG techniques and hybrid search.
• Ability to manage conversational state and memory in complex AI graphs.

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement multi-step AI workflows using LangGraph or similar frameworks.
• Develop, test, and version-control prompts (few-shot, Chain-of-Thought, ReAct).
• Use Vertex AI tools for prompt optimization and evaluation.
• Build and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines (parsing, embedding, vector DB).
• Establish automated evaluation frameworks to measure hallucination, groundedness, relevancy.

About The Role

Following our successful expansion into the U.S. and continued growth across Europe, we are seeking a Mid-Level AI Engineer to help drive our AI and Data engineering from our Barcelona hub.

Reporting directly to our AI / Engineering leadership, this person will play a critical role in building sophisticated AI systems that go beyond simple chat interfaces.

This role will focus on designing agentic workflows, managing complex state in LLM applications, and ensuring that our generative features are reliable, steerable, and scalable.

Who We re Looking For

We are looking for an AI Engineer with experience in software or ML engineering and hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-based applications in production.

Someone with an agentic mindset, who understands that LLMs are more powerful when treated as reasoning engines within a larger system rather than just text predictors. This person should be able to manage conversational state and memory in complex, non-linear AI graphs while applying strong software engineering rigor to AI development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex, multi-step AI workflows using LangGraph or similar frameworks to manage state, loops, and conditional logic.
• Develop, test, and version-control advanced prompts, Few-shot, Chain-of-Thought, ReAct.
• Use Vertex AI s Help me write and prompt optimization tools to refine system instructions.
• Build and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation, RAG, pipelines, including document parsing, embedding optimization, and vector database management.
• Establish automated evaluation frameworks using the Vertex AI Gen AI Evaluation Service to measure hallucination rates, groundedness, and relevancy.

Requirements

Must-haves

• 2/3+ years in software/ML engineering, with at least 1 year of hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-based applications in production.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as LangGraph, Stateful Actors, LangChain, CrewAI, or Vertex AI Agent Builder.
• Experience with the GCP ecosystem, including Vertex AI Studio, Cloud Run for serverless AI apps, BigQuery for data grounding, and Cloud Storage.
• Advanced RAG techniques, Hybrid search, Parent-Document Retrieval, Query expansion.
• Deep understanding of how to manage conversational state and memory in complex, non-linear AI graphs, cycles, nodes, and edges.
• Ability to treat AI engineering like software engineering, applying CI/CD, unit testing for prompts, and structured logging using Cloud Trace and Cloud Logging.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience designing agentic workflows using LangGraph or similar frameworks.
• Experience with prompt engineering and optimization, including Few-shot, Chain-of-Thought, and ReAct.
• Experience building and maintaining RAG pipelines, including document parsing, embedding optimization, and vector database management.
• Experience establishing LLM-as-a-Judge evaluation frameworks.
• Experience using Vertex AI Gen AI Evaluation Service to measure hallucination rates, groundedness, and relevancy.
