Job summary

Kabilio in Barcelona is seeking an ML Engineer or Data Scientist to join the AI team, building scalable AI-enabled features across accounting-focused platforms in production. You'll work with Ivan the CTO, Guillem and Marc, and cross-functional teams to design AI agents, integrate LLM/RAG, and decide when to use classical ML versus generative AI to deliver real customer value.

We offer a hybrid setup with 3 days/week in the Barcelona office, an indefinite Spanish contract, and top work equipment

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience building ML/AI systems in production.
• Experience integrating LLM with RAG for enhanced AI capabilities.
• Proficiency with ML frameworks and model deployment (e.g., PyTorch or TensorFlow).
• Strong understanding of ML concepts, neural networks, and optimization.
• Experience building AI Agents and working with AI stacks.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI platform components for autonomous, intelligent workflows.
• Collaborate on architectural decisions for the AI stack at Kabilio.
• Work with production AI pipelines processing documents to deliver operational value.
• Partner with product and engineering to identify where AI adds the most value and how to integrate it into the product.

We're Kabilio, a company backed by two leading venture capital firms, founded by experienced entrepreneurs, Alex Valls and Jose Ojeda, with a strong track record in building and scaling successful tech companies.

What We're Building

Our goal is to become the go-to Financial Operating System for accounting firms and SMEs in Southern Europe, unifying accounting, tax, payments, planning, and banking into a single platform. We are currently a tight-knit team of 35 people and plan to grow in 2026, with a strong focus on engineering, product design, and sales.

Why this role matters?

Today, Kabilio already runs three core products in production - Invoices Processing, Bank Transactions, and Invoicing - used daily by real customers. At the same time, we're building our Accounting platform, the product that defines our long-term vision and the reason Kabilio was founded. AI sits at the core of everything we build, from automating and categorizing financial data to enabling intelligent workflows and decision-making across the entire financial lifecycle. We rely on modern architectures and proven technologies to turn this vision into a scalable, production-ready platform.

You will be a foundational part of the tech team! You will work closely with Ivan, the CTO, Guillem and Marc, AI Engineers, and Tech Leads, as well as with a cross-functional team of engineers and Product Managers, to work on AI specific use cases solving real challenges.

What you'll do?

• You will work in an environment where AI is already integrated across our products.

• Collaborate in designing a new platform for AI agents that will take the interaction with our software to the next level, enabling more autonomous and intelligent workflows for users.

• You will work with generative AI systems already running in production, where AI pipelines process thousands of documents every day and generate real operational value for customers.

• Depending on your level of seniority, you will have significant ownership over the AI stack at Kabilio, from architecture decisions to implementation and evolution.

• You will collaborate closely with a strong product and engineering team to build new features and define where AI creates the most value, deciding when to use classical ML approaches versus modern generative AI systems and how to integrate them into the product.

What should you bring to the table?

• 2+ years of experience as ML Engineer or Data Scientist building ML/AI systems in production that solve practical use cases.

• Developed projects related to integrating LLM with RAG for enhanced AI capabilities.

• Experience with ML frameworks, model training, and deployment. e.g. PyTorch or TensorFlow.

• Strong understanding of ML concepts, neural networks, and optimization.

• Solid understanding of building AI Agents.

• Spanish and English professional level.
