Job summary

Alignerr is seeking an AI Security Analyst to probe frontier AI models for vulnerabilities under adversarial conditions, helping ensure safety, reliability, and alignment with security standards.

This is a fully remote, hourly contract role for security professionals curious about AI and tackling some of the most technically interesting problems in tech today. Flexible 10–40 hours/week with freelance autonomy and meaningful, high-impact work.

• Investigate prompt injection, data leakage risks, model abuse patterns, and system misuse cases.
• Classify security vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations based on real-world impact and likelihood.
• Evaluate AI system behavior and contribute structured findings to improve safety and reliability.
• Work with realistic, high-stakes scenarios drawn from cutting-edge AI deployment.

What You'll Do

• Analyze AI and LLM security scenarios to understand how models behave under adversarial, unexpected, or edge-case conditions
• Investigate prompt injection attacks, data leakage risks, model abuse patterns, and system misuse cases
• Classify security vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigations based on real-world impact and likelihood
• Evaluate AI system behavior and contribute structured findings that improve model safety and reliability
• Work with realistic, high-stakes scenarios drawn from the cutting edge of AI deployment
• Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule

Who You Are

• Background in cybersecurity, application security, or a related field — with a genuine interest in how AI systems are built and can be exploited
• Familiar with modern threat modeling concepts applied to software systems, APIs, or emerging technologies
• Analytically sharp — you think like an attacker and document like a defender
• Naturally curious about edge cases, unintended behaviors, and the limits of complex systems
• Detail-oriented and precise when evaluating risk, likelihood, and impact
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, generative AI tools, or AI application security
• Familiarity with prompt injection, jailbreaking techniques, or adversarial ML concepts
• Background in penetration testing, red teaming, or vulnerability research
• Experience writing structured security assessments or threat models
• Knowledge of AI safety, alignment, or responsible AI frameworks
