Job summary

Nextlane is seeking a Mid/Senior Software Engineer to champion AI in software development. You’ll work on C#/.NET and older technologies like COBOL, Delphi, and WinDev, while leveraging AI agents to accelerate coding, testing, and documentation.

You’ll collaborate across teams to modernize architectures and build features for the automotive industry. Ideal candidates bring 4–6 years of experience, strong English, and a willingness to work with both legacy and modern stacks.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (mandatory).
• Experience with legacy technologies such as COBOL, Delphi, PowerBuilder, FoxPro or WinDev is a plus.
• Solid experience with at least one modern stack, preferably C# / .NET and/or React / TypeScript / JavaScript.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Practical experience writing automated tests (unit, integration and/or end-to-end).
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example in daily use of AI coding agents across development, testing, documentation and code review.
• Configure and maintain agent setups: rules, prompts, libraries and workflows.
• Run demos, pair-programming sessions and internal workshops to boost AI adoption.
• Identify repetitive tasks and propose practical improvements using AI agents.
• Keep up with AI tooling trends and share insights with the team.
• Develop and maintain applications across modern and legacy stacks, including migrations to modern architectures.
