Job summary

Kyndryl in Madrid is seeking a Platform Engineer for the Agentic AI & Harness Engineering team. You will build the internal harness that turns foundation models into reliable, governed AI agents at scale, with emphasis on runtime, orchestration and guardrails.

You will collaborate with Dev, Ops, and Security, design reusable patterns, and ensure the harness remains compatible with model upgrades. This role blends software engineering with platform-thinking in a hybrid, Madrid-based environment.

Qualifications

5+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps or SRE in production.
Hands-on experience building agent harnesses or agentic systems.
Strong Python development and production-grade abstractions.
Solid cloud-native background: Kubernetes, containers, IaC, and one major cloud.
Understanding of LLM agent failure modes and reliability practices.
Experience treating a platform as a product: contracts, SLOs and adoption metrics.
Professional working English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Design and build the agent harness: runtime, orchestration, tool and MCP integration, context and memory, evaluation, guardrails and observability.
Build golden paths and reusable patterns so teams ship agents that are reliable, governed and measurable.
Define the oversight model: policy‑as‑code, human‑in‑the‑loop checkpoints, loop and failure detection.
Integrate agents with CI/CD, infrastructure, cloud services, observability and ticketing through APIs and MCP.
Make agentic productivity measurable and ensure the harness is versioned and upgrade‑proof.
Mentor teams, reduce friction between Dev, Ops, Security and the people adopting agents.
