Santander Asset Management is seeking an Accounting & Control Senior Analyst based in Spain (Boadilla) to join the Global Finance & Strategy team. You will perform statutory reporting, budgeting, liquidity analysis, and liaison with external auditors across SAM countries.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting, IFRS/PGC expertise, and fluency in English and Spanish. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and able to navigate complex financial data within a multinational framework.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in a similar accounting role (Required).
• Experience as an external auditor in a Big Four is a plus (Preferred).
• ADE/Económicas or an equivalent degree (Required).
• Fluent in English and Spanish (Written and spoken) (Required).
• Strong IFRS and PGC accounting knowledge (Required).
• Highly analytical and numerate with ability to understand P&L and balance sheets (Required).
• Good Excel skills and ability to analyze numerical data (Preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and coordinate month-end closings for entities within scope and liaise with other countries’ finance teams.
• Report accounting information to stakeholders and produce monthly management reporting.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and business plan processes; monitor deviations and provide inputs at global level.
• Prepare annual statutory accounts and impairment tests with external auditors.
• Collaborate with Third Party Risk Management and procurement to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate liquidity planning and reporting to Group forums and the Board.
• Analyze accounting implications of new projects and provide inputs at SAM Group level.
• Lead global market share analyses and reporting for stakeholders.
• Prepare capital contributions reports and monitor deviations during the year.
• Contribute to ESG reporting for SAM Group.

Santander Asset Management is looking for an Accounting & Control Sr. Analyst based out of Boadilla.

As an Accounting & Control Sr. Analyst you will be part of the Global Finance & Strategy team in Santander Asset Management performing multiple tasks which mainly involve statutory controlling and reporting, budgeting, cost and liquidity analysis and liaison with external and internal auditors.

• Prepare and coordinate accounting month-ends of the entities within the scope, it includes to review deeply all the month end figures to ensure liaison with other departments, Gesban and finance teams in other countries within SAM Group to ensure month-end are prepared on time and with the correct information.

• Report accounting information to different stakeholders. Produce, control and analyze monthly management reporting. Accounting and management information, travel and liquidity reports, among others.

• Prepare annual budgeting and business plan processes for the entities within the scope. Monitor and analysis the deviations. Additionally, the candidate will be involved from a Global point of view reviewing and coordinating budgets and business plans of the different countries within SAM Group; and also analyzing and providing inputs to the countries related with Global Projects.

• Prepare annual statutory accounts and annual impairment tests for several legal entities within SAM, including liaison with Gesban, external audit and external valuator

• Collaborate with Third Party Risk Management function and procurement to ensure compliance with the TPRM model

• Prepare and coordinate liquidity requirements for SAM Group which include, among others, quarterly liquidity consolidation and reporting to Group forums, dividend plan for SAM Group, updates to Board.

• Analyze accounting implications of new projects and initiatives being proposed in coordination with Gesban and the external auditor. Or any accounting input that is required at SAM Group level

• Global market share analysis, receiving inputs from countries and analyzing them and preparing reporting information for the different stakeholders.

• Prepare capital contribution for SAM Group during the budget and business plan process. Prepare reports for the different stakeholders. Monitor and analysis the deviations during the year.

• Collaborate and prepare ESG reporting for SAM Group.

Professional Experience

• 5+ years of experience performing a similar role, with focus in accounting (Required).

• Experience as an external auditor in a Big Four is a plus (Preferred).

Education

• ADE/Económicas o Grado equivalente (Required).

Languages

• Fluent in English and Spanish written and speaking (Required).

Hard Skills

• Strong IFRS and PGC technical accounting experience (Required).

• Highly analytical and numerate. Ability to understand P&L and financial balance sheets (Required).

• Good Excel skills and the ability to analyze and interpret financial and numerical data (Preferred).
