Job summary

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) in Badalona is offering a part-time Data Assistant role to support collection, entry and cleaning of clinical data across study databases, with data validation checks and query resolution.

The position requires enrollment in a Medicine degree, English B2, and basic knowledge of Excel and biostatistics. You will work under supervision within the endocrinology research group, on MASLD projects, at Can Ruti Campus.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Medicine degree, preferably in final years.
• English level B2.
• Basic knowledge of spreadsheet tools and basic knowledge of biostatistics.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; able to work independently and in a team.
• Experience in data entry, database management and clinical research environments.
• GDPR and data protection awareness appreciated.

Data assistant. Support collection, entry and cleaning of data across study databases. This role involves performing data validation checks, resolving data queries and maintaining well-organised datasets following study protocols and data quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

• supporting the collection, entry, and cleaning of clinical data
• performing basic data validation and quality checks
• and assisting in the resolution of data queries under supervision

The candidate will also collaborate with the team to maintain accurate and well-organised study databases in accordance with established protocols and data protection standards, and will familiarize themselves with the background of MASLD and the related projects of the endocrinology research group.

Qualifications And Experience

• Required level of education: Current enrollment in a Medicine degree, preferably in the final years of the program.
• English B2.
• Basic knowledge on spreadsheet tools and basic knowledge of biostatistics.
• Personal skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with good communication and a proactive attitude. High level of responsibility and commitment to data quality and confidentiality.
• Required experience: previous exposure to data entry, database management and clinical research environments. Previously worked in a research group as data assistant.
• Specific requirements established by the call or grant: Enrollment in the university degree programme in Medicine.
• Basic knowledge of clinical research processes and data management principles. Familiarity with spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel) and statistical software (STATA), and understanding of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) will be positively valued.

• Working hours: 15 hours per week.
• Date of incorporation: First week of November 2026.
• Gross annual remuneration inherent to the square objected to this call, will be fixed based on the experience provided and the skills of the candidate, distributed in 12 payments.

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research centre located in Badalona. Its main objective is to increase scientific knowledge in order to transform it into solutions to improve the health and medical care of patients and the community.

The Institute is associated with one of the major university hospitals in the Barcelona area, the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, and is part of the Can Ruti biomedical campus.
