**Job Title**:Research Assistant on Surface Chemistry of Ferroelectrics

**Research area or group**:Oxide Nanophysics Group

**Description of Group/Project**: The present position is to finalize an on-going research project on the integration of molecular electrodes, made of para-aminobenzoic acid, on ultra-thin films of ferroelectric barium titanate.

**Main Tasks and responsibilities**:To make ultra-thin (<10 nm) epitaxial films of BaTiO3 by RF sputtering; To deposit para-aminobenzoic acid on the aforementioned ferroelectric films; To measure the electrical properties of these films, both at device level (through electrodes) and at the nanoscopic level using atomic force microscopy; To communicate results via articles and presentations.

**Requirements**:

- **Education**:BSc and Masters in Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry or Chemical Physics.
- **Knowledge**:Fabrication of epitaxial ferroelectrics by RF sputtering. Deposition of para-aminobenzoic acid.



Proficient at piezo-response force microscopy and conductive-tip AFM.
- **Professional Experience**:Demonstrable experience in ferroelectric thin film research, including publishing papers (at least one as first author) and giving presentations at international conferences.
- **Personal Competences**:Fluent in English. Good team player.

**Summary of conditions**:

- Full time work (37,5h/week)
- Contract Length: 6 months
- Location: Bellaterra (Barcelona)
- Salary will depend on qualifications and demonstrated experience.
