Overview

VivaGym Group operates over 250 gyms across Spain and Portugal. We are a low-cost, no contract, subscription-based business. As we continue to expand and evolve, we are seeking an experienced Data Engineer who can take ownership of data flows and integrations.

The ideal person will be a driven, passionate, self-starter who is able to develop innovative and effective approaches to solve our most critical business and data challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create processes to extract data from different sources, transform it and integrate it into our database systems.
  • Automate data flows that serve as basis for reports and analytical tools.
  • Work closely with the Data Analysts and internal stakeholders to understand data needs and design the appropriate data models.
  • Manage changes, maintain and optimize performance of existing data flows and database infrastructures.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through testing and monitoring.

Requisitos mínimos

  • SKILLS
  • Fluent in English and Spanish is mandatory.
  • Portuguese an advantage.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work with other (non-technical) departments.
  • Proficiency in SQL (core databases are SQL Server and PostgreSQL).
  • Proficiency in ETL/ELT (knowledge in PDI Kettle, Azure Data Factory or Fabric is a plus).
  • Knowledge in implementing data and BI systems.
  • Microsoft stack including SQL server, SSMS and Power BI.
  • Amazon Redshift and Azure environment is an advantage but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Knowledge of GitHub.
  • Experience with command lines (Linux or Powershell), Docker, database management, virtual machines or cloud services.

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training related to a data field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in similar roles.
