Project description:

Candidate will be part of one of the teams working for Bingel Islands.

Bingel is an adaptive all-round platform for primary education where teachers and pupils are central. It assists teachers in achieving the best learning outcomes for each pupil by offering high-quality teaching materials and time-saving solutions for planning, preparing, coaching, and assessing. Pupils in Belgium, Finland, Sweden, and the Netherlands use Bingel as their gamified learning platform, where they can earn virtual money to buy avatar accessories or games.

Work setup:

We offer two work models: a hybrid setup (three days remote, two days in the office) or fully remote with occasional visits to our Barcelona office for team events, training, and business trips. The home office should be in Spain, and you are expected to work exclusively within Spain.

Role responsibilities:

  • Help build innovative and engaging educational applications.
  • As a Java developer, be part of a Scrum team, develop new functionalities, solve problems, and analyze complex issues.
  • Create proofs of concept to assist in making technical decisions.
  • Support tickets and perform minor operational tasks.
  • Monitor applications and check logs on a rotating basis.
  • Maintain focus on quality and motivate team members to do the same.

Must-have requirements:

  • +6 years of Java (11 or higher)
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, CloudFormation, S3, CloudFront, Elasticache, Lambdas)
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB), Gradle, REST, Spring, MySQL
  • Passion for building secure, scalable, high-availability solutions
  • Experience in agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe...)
  • Fluent communication and documentation skills in English and Spanish
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in an international team

  • Microservices architecture
