Siemens Valencia, Valencian Community, Spain

We are looking for someone passionate about developing high-performance and/or highly-secured Java applications!

Sqills, part of Siemens Mobility business unit Software, is a leading technology company focused on providing innovative solutions for the public transport industry. We are dedicated to improving the passenger experience and increasing operational efficiency for our clients globally.

As an experienced Java Developer, you have a wide range of opportunities. You value working for a company that supports your professional development and offers work on a mission‑critical SaaS suite. We invite you to join our Software Development Center in Valencia, which targets Intelligent Solutions for the future of Mobility.

Our approach

In this DevOps team we develop and maintain microservices that are part of the S3 Passenger system, a ticket and seat‑reservation backend. Some services are high‑performing, others require extra security due to payment data. The team also develops other Java applications and maintains our CI/CD pipelines and tooling. In addition to Java, team members may code in Kotlin and Go.

We use Terraform, Kubernetes, and various AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, AmazonMQ, CloudWatch, ELB). Production services are monitored with OpenTelemetry, New Relic, and PagerDuty, and a custom‑built front‑end visualises distributed traces for error analysis.

Secure development, architecture, performance, and resiliency are cornerstones of all teams. We continually improve code with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and quality, sharing workloads and knowledge across the team.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate on software used to find and book seats for major international travel brands like Eurostar, Renfe, and SNCF.
  • Optimize asynchronous request processing for high‑availability and performance, or add security where needed.
  • Improve development pipelines and help analyze new feature requests.
  • Continuously refactor code to enhance quality and performance.

Are you a match?

  • Experience with mission‑critical Java microservices.
  • Passionate about refactoring code and making it shine.
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative team open to new ideas.
  • Eager to learn new programming languages or technologies.
  • Proficient in Spanish and English with strong communication skills.
  • Looking to thrive in a “work hard and play hard” culture with team outings and events.

We encourage applications from a diverse talent pool and welcome discussions around flexibility requirements to support agile working and innovation. Flexibility is our main benefit, combining remote and presence work to enable a healthy work‑life balance.
