The Agile Coach role is multi-faceted, with an introductory level knowledge of industry standards in coaching, teaching, and facilitating within a team. They work directly with 1-2 cross-functional, self-organizing Agile teams that are part of a larger value stream to enable agility, collaboration, alignment, and lean product-focused delivery based on outcomes. The Intermediate Agile Coach partners with Product Managers on backlog management techniques. The Intermediate Agile Coach also brings alignment and agility by facilitating Agile ceremonies as well as conflict resolution within the team.

They further the agile maturity and mindset of individuals through coaching. The Intermediate Agile Coach acts as a Servant Leader to the team, enabling them to fully own their Agile practices, break down silos, establish feedback loops, and achieve continuous value delivery.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities

The Intermediate Agile Coach acts as a guide and facilitator for teams through:

  • Coaching: Leverages understanding of industry standards as an Agile-Lean Practitioner to support the team in building competence in Agile Frameworks, internalizing Agile values, and driving innovation in digital product delivery. Works with 1-2 teams in a value stream to foster collaboration and bring alignment. Challenges the status quo and exposes team blind spots to identify continuous improvement opportunities. Fosters strong team health and ongoing maturity through collaboration, problem solving, experimentation, and working towards a product vision. Creates and executes coaching strategies for the team. Escalates productivity constraints and organizational barriers to accelerating outcome delivery.
  • Training: Uses established training materials to provide education on Agile best practices, focusing on improving team maturity and practice adoption.
  • Facilitating: Enables team members to achieve outcomes through situation-specific facilitation. Acts as an unbiased, neutral process holder, guiding teams to achieve outcomes. Partners with experienced coaches to facilitate large group events.

Your Tasks & Responsibilities

Key Working Relations: Works daily with software developers, product managers, people/line managers, and strategic partners. Collaborates with other Agile Coaches on large-scale initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Change Agent, or in an IT environment with at least 6 months in an Agile Coach mentorship program.
  • Understanding of industry practices, Agile principles, values, and mindset.
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills.
  • Passionate about customer needs.
  • Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to support teams beginning their Agile journey.
  • Introductory mentoring and teaching skills.
