Manages and directs the Education Department for Sagamok Anishnawbek in accordance with policies, procedures and guidelines set by Council.
The scope of programs and services that are administrated by the Director of Education include Biidaaban Elementary School, Day Care (Shki Waase Aaban Binoojiinh Gamik), Adult/Alternative Education, as well as secondary and post-secondary counseling programs.
Duties include overseeing strategic planning, priority setting, and budgeting; serving as a liaison between employees and Council; assisting students and community members; and serving on various committees. Responsibilities involve extensive interaction with directors and managers, Chief and Council, federal government officials and other government departments and agencies and boards of Education.
