The software engineer role at Salesforce encompasses architecture, design, implementation, and testing to ensure we build products right and release them with high quality.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement, test and deliver highly scalable products
• Build features by writing maintainable code and know when to apply unit, functional, and integration tests
• Work with your peers to design and document new and existing systems
• Collaborate with other senior engineers, product management, and user experience experts to ensure that your features are of high quality and that they meet our customer's needs
• Work in a Hybrid Engineering model and eagerness to contribute in all phases of SDLC including design, implementation, code reviews, automation, and testing of the stories
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to address complex problems in real-time and keep services operational and highly available

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Professional experience with object-oriented programming (Java, Python, etc)
• Solid understanding of web technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, XML, JavaScript, JSON, and/or Ajax
• Experience with database technologies such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL, PL/SQL, and relational database schema design
• Experience in automated testing including unit and functional testing using Java, JUnit, JSUnit, Selenium
• You know what good, well-factored, code looks like. You understand the trade-offs of various approaches to solving a problem and can verbalize and discuss those decisions
• You are a strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts in simple language

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience building scalable web applications using Java, Spring Framework.
• Pivoting to, or developing within, a Service Oriented Architecture.
• Ownership of the whole software development lifecycle, including:
  • Service ownership
  • Familiarity with CI/CD approaches,
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting software in production
• Excellent communication skills and a strong team player
• Understanding of how to balance speed of delivery with maintainability
• Proficient in written and spoken English
