JOB PURPOSE:
Designate as technical authority and specialist covering all the area of Operation Petrophysics. Provide guidelines and directions to assets on the potential areas for logging program, acquisition, log QC and petrophysical log evaluation for all Logging While Drilling (LWD) & Wireline (Open & cased holes) tools. Defines and updates workflows, methodologies and procedures for any logging tool physics and measurement issues.

Job Specific Accountabilities
Represents ADNOC Onshore technical authority for all Petrophysics LWD and Wireline Operations, Log Quality Control (LQC) Assurance, Depth Control and Open and Cased Hole Logs Evaluation.
Standardizes and prepares the Terms of Reference, Standard Operating Procedures, Scope of Work, Methodology, Workflows, Parameters, Timing and Budget for Asset Petrophysicist/ Contractors/ Consultants related to Operations Petrophysics.
Assists and endorses peer review and Assets Operation Petrophysics Logging Programs to meet corporate business objectives and KPIs.
Identifies formation evaluation challenges and logging tool operating risks across all ADNOC Onshore Assets and implement new / alternate technologies to mitigate the risks.
Participates, guides and supports Drilling Team, Logging Team, Assets Petrophysicists and Contractors for resolving day-to-day challenges related to Logging Operations, Logging Quality Control and Log Analysis.
Provides training through petrophysical learning academies/ workshops and inputs for personal development plans for Asset Petrophysicists.
Ensures Assets adherence to store / archive all petrophysics raw and processed logs in the corporate database as per SOP on ‘Well Database Standards’.
Evaluates open and cased hole logging data using latest software packages.
Generic Accountabilities
Supervision
Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
Provides work direction to less experienced Petro physicists and Contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Bachelors’ degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent petro-technical discipline.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills:
Minimum 12 years of experience in Petrophysics, including minimum 5 years’ as Specialist in Operation Petrophysics.
International experience and extensive knowledge on Logging While Drilling (LWD), Wireline Logging Tools & Technology of major Logging Service providers is a must. Extensive experience in Open hole & Cased Hole Log Evaluation using deterministic and stochastic methods.
Skilled in correcting LWD logs in horizontal wells for anisotropy affects including but not limited to resistivity inversion and modelling, evaluating distance to boundary for geosteering etc.
In-depth knowledge of key software on Petrophysics Log Editing & Evaluation like Techlog, IP, Geolog.
Knowledge of Operation Geology (Mud logging and Geological Operations), Exploration Geology, Development Geology and Sedimentology.
Skilled in Petrophysical Field Studies, Integration of Quality Controlled Core analysis with Petrophysical data, Core Data Acquisition and Interpretation.
Track record in maturing and applying new technologies related to identification of bypass oil, improving hydrocarbon recovery and extending well life is essential.
