KU is seeking an experienced & highly motivated Research Scientist to work on a funded project to investigate and develop quantum-inspired type algorithms, for solving the neutron transport equation (NTE) in view of applications to nuclear reactor simulations. The specific class of quantum-inspired methods on which we will focus on is tensor networks.
The successful Research Scientist will join a collaborative project with Technology Innovation Institute (TII) to develop and implement novel methods and solvers which will be adapted toward the use of full-scale reactor physics applications to nuclear technology relevant to the APR1400.
As part of the project, the researcher will have access to state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities at the Emirates Nuclear Technology Center (www.ku.ac.ae/entc ) and will get an opportunity to work alongside researchers/graduate students from various backgrounds as part of a wider team.
This is a 3-year project (with possible extension), and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with leading research institutions in the UAE and contribute to the advancement of the nuclear-energy industry through the application of the developed solvers to reactor physics simulations.
