The New Energies & International Gas directorate is a newly formed entity in ADNOC aimed at achieving the ADNOC mandate of maximum energy minimum emissions. Within this directorate is the newly formed CCUS division which is aimed at managing the CCUS activities across ADNOC. In specific, the team is responsible for ensuring the successful realization of the CCUS strategy for the future.
Sr, Specialist Business development is key for the CCUS division. The incumbent will be responsible for working on topics such as the CCUS strategy, business models & economics, new business ventures & partnerships, carbon markets & business intelligence and policies & regulations required to scale up the development of CCUS.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Participates to the development of a comprehensive and exhaustive CCUS strategy for ADNOC Group
Ensures the setup and establishment of a profitable CCUS business/businesses
Ensures scale up of our CCS capacity to be able to meet customer demands
Champion and represent CCUS activities across ADNOC
Identify, negotiate and secure new partnerships with companies that are interested in decarbonizing through carbon capture, transport, utilization and storage systems.
Develop and design strategies for acquiring new partners and expand ADNOC’s partnership base for CCUS.
Manage and maintain relationships with current partners, ensuring mutual benefits are realized and that organizational goals are secured.
Work with ADNOC legal to manage and negotiate contracts with partners including terms, conditions, confidentiality liabilities and financial arrangements to ensure ADNOC’s goals towards low carbon & international growth are met.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between ADNOC and its partners, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of the carbon dioxide technology competition, storage projects and feasibility studies.
Work hand in hand with Technical Manager on studies and identify business opportunities to promote and cascade to partners/future partners.
Represent the CCUS function in different external events, activities and internally when it comes to ensuring the success of the CCUS business unit and ADNOC’s mandates
Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
Provide input for preparation of the division and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
Implement approved division policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the division work programs in line with Company and International standards.
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
Regular interaction with SVP, New Energies & Business Intelligence, VP International Growth and VPs of Hydrogen business functions (Technical, Business Development)
Frequent interaction with leadership across central functions and across ADNOC Group BLDs to ensure alignment across the ADNOC value chain when it comes to deployment of CCUS
Frequent interaction with Group Companies’ leadership under different BLDs
External
Frequent interaction with LC&IG clients and strategic partners to ensure relationship is proactively managed with regular feedback to LC&IG Director
Ad-hoc interaction with local and government entities to discuss any initiatives that may be of interest to ADNOC leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Master’s degree Engineering or Business Administration
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
10+ years in international O&G industry with proven experience in Carbon Capture and Storage Business Development activities
Passion and dedication to working in a fast paced, dynamic and high-pressure environment
Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
