What will you do?

As a Consultant with relevant expertise, your mission is to support client projects that help decision-makers in addressing their ESG and Climate Change related sustainability targets:

• Carry out comprehensive project tasks under the Project Manager's leadership. Plan complex project task streams in alignment with project leader and team.
• Define sub-projects and smaller projects and its targets in relation to content and methodology.
• Design, set up, and administer project / milestone plans.
• Lead a medium-sized client team. Win over team members for the objectives and results of the project.
• Take responsibility for the follow-up on work and project plans for the overall project.
• Independently implement own industry experience in the project work.
• Design and develop presentations.
• Independently moderate smaller workshops.
• Competently give presentations to the clients' higher management.
• Summarize project results into a coherent line of arguments.
• Structure project findings in written reports in text form and in PPT-presentation format and communicate key message with higher management on a one-to-one basis.
• Create implementation plans for project results.

Additionally, you will be playing an active role in building the firm by:

• Identifying leads for subsequent activities of current project work.
• Supporting proposal development.
• Mentoring a number of Interns and Analysts and introduce Junior Consultants into project phases.
• Extracting know-how from project work and turn it into offerings.
• Actively engaging in internal tasks under instruction.
• Supporting thought leadership for the firm, e.g. develop and enhance existing IP, PoV publications, whitepapers, presentations at conferences, etc.
• Supporting and educate internal and external networks on the sustainability / climate change value proposition.
• Becoming recognized as a sustainability / climate change subject-matter expert and trusted thought partner within dss+ and to clients.

Who are you?

You will bring scientific rigor seeking to translate results into concrete and economically viable implementation in a number of the following sustainability themes:

• Masters degree or equivalent in either engineering, economics, social sciences, MINT/STEM.
• 3-7 years of experience in Sustainability and climate change relevant fields.
• Interested in various sectors and keen to dive deeper into specific sectors such as oil & gas, chemicals, mining, manufacturing, food & beverage, utilities, mobility, services: finance, telco, etc.
• Deep knowledge of common international sustainability frameworks and respective institutions, e.g. SDGs, WBCSD
• Experience in developing ESG strategy, materiality assessments and ESG implementation roadmaps.
• Familiar with fundamental ESG reporting concepts and regulations, such as GRI, SASB, UN Global Compact, CDP, etc.
• First experiences with net-zero targets, potential actions and roadmaps and some of the key components, e.g. GHG emissions scope 1, 2 analysis and measures, decarbonization options and technologies. Scope 3 experience is a plus.
• Knowledge on ISO 14064.
• Experience in conducting TCFD analyses.
• Awareness of decarbonization themes, such as carbon capture and utilization technologies, carbon markets and financing mechanisms, various low-carbon technologies.
• Overview on renewables incl. relevance of hydrogen-based technologies and related energy systems to advise on our clients’ energy transformation journey.
• Be able to understand the application of energy modelling and accounting.

• Work independently while personable, a good listener and connect easily with others, making you a great team player.
• If required, able to effectively work in a remote setting across time zones.
• Fluent in English. Arabic being a plus.
