We are looking for an In-Situ Specialistto join our Services Delivery team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates .

The successful candidate will join a team offer specialized, fast and reliable support, maintenance and repair services for customers operating equipment by multiple brands, both in the marine and energy sectors. In this position, you are reporting to Team Leader, In-Situ Services.


Your role and responsibilities:

As an In-Situ Specialistyour work will include the below tasks, the tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of an energetic In-Situ Services team with diverse expertise:

  • Independently execute in-situ machining activities
  • Perform machining works in a workshop environment as well as in the field.
  • Perform In-situ machining works on Wartsila and other products.
  • Participate in improvements of In-situ machining equipment and products.
  • Participate in technical discussions/communications.
  • Perform workshop services as directed.
  • Report and inform administrative personnel as required.
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to QuantiServ and Wartsila Quality.
  • Prepare Service reports and travel expenses on time and with expected QuantiServ and Wartsila quality.
  • Report executed work according to QuantiServ and Wartsila standards.
  • Promote QuantiServ and Wartsila Products and Services.
  • Safely execute all work according to QuantiServ and Wartsila Standards.

Requirements for the position:

  • Degree or Professional Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent educational background.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial experience with at least 3 years experience in In-situ machining.
  • Experienced in using In-situ machining crankpin equipment, reference required.
  • An advanced level of English Language and fluency in other languages is a plus.
  • Experienced in using In-situ line boring, milling, drilling and lathe equipment, reference required.
  • An advanced level of using MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook etc) and the ability to learn in-house systems for operations and business needs.
  • Experienced in using workshop machines such as manual lathe, milling and drilling machines.
  • Knowledge in using Laser alignment equipment.
  • Use of measuring equipment such as large micrometres.
  • Metal stitching experience is highly recommended.
