The BID Manager will play a key role in the business development team, responsible for coordinating and managing the proposal development process for potential clients. The successful candidate will review expressions of interest (EOIs) and request for proposals (RFPs) from clients, and provide a summary of the project brief, scope of services, and submission requirements. They will prepare and/or issue RFP tender queries to clients and coordinate with them regarding tender queries.
The chosen candidate will be responsible for preparing, issuing, and/or reviewing bid and tender proposals submissions. They will prepare RFP project brief and scope of services for subconsultants/specialists provide advice and guidance on RFPs’ scope of services and requirements. Additionally, they will coordinate with and provide responses to subconsultants/specialists’ queries during the bidding and tender process.
Other duties will include forwarding client contracts provided in RFPs to the Commercial Director and/or Contracts Administrator for review and comments, and forwarding project brief, scope of services, and program provided in RFPs to the Project Director and Executive Director for their review and comments.
The BID Manager will prepare cost analysis and summary of subconsultants’/specialists’ proposals and coordinate with the Managing Director and/or the BD & Operation Director to discuss and finalise fee proposals. They will prepare, issue and/or review responses to clients’ post-tender clarifications and submissions.
You will also be responsible for preparing and/or issuing project handovers to the project management team, design team, and contracts team upon receipt of notice of project contract award from the Managing Director or the BD & Operation Director. They will assist and/or facilitate in the selection and negotiation process of subconsultants/specialists during project execution design stages and assist and/or facilitate in issuing notifications of awards (via email) to selected subconsultants/specialists during project execution design stages.
As a Bid Manager, you are an individual who possesses good leadership, interpersonal, organisational, and management skills. You have a solid working knowledge and understanding of the consultancy tender and bidding process, with at least 2 years of relevant significant experience in design consultancy tender and bidding process.
Experience in the United Arab Emirates is essential.
You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Proficiency in other languages such as Arabic or French is an advantage.
The chosen candidate will be proficient in basic computer and software skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and have a good understanding of project management software such as MS Project and Primavera. Additionally, you have a working knowledge of design, drafting, and BIM software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup.
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering, although a relevant advanced degree or post-graduate degree is an advantage. You have 12+ years of professional experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
Finally, you are a highly motivated individual with a passion for the construction industry, who can work collaboratively and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You are detail-oriented and able to multitask efficiently while managing competing priorities. Your ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders is crucial to the success of the bids and tenders you manage.
