Job description

Job Description About LEGO Education LEGO® Education is a global learning business within the LEGO Group, dedicated to helping children develop the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. For more than 40 years, LEGO Education has partnered closely with educators to bring learning to life through playful, hands-on experiences that build confidence, curiosity, and real-world problem-solving skills. Founded in the early 1980s as the LEGO Institutional Department, LEGO Education was created with a simple but powerful belief: learning is most effective when it is active, engaging, and built through experience. Over time, the business evolved (formerly LEGO DACTA and the LEGO Educational Division) while staying anchored in this mission—designing solutions that align with curriculum standards and support teachers from early learning through secondary education. Today, LEGO Education serves educators and students in over 90 countries, combining physical LEGO® bricks, digital tools, and high-quality classroom-ready lessons to support learning in science, engineering, technology, and computer science. The focus is on developing foundational skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and resilience—skills that matter well beyond the classroom.

Recent Product Innovation In 2025, LEGO Education launched LEGO Education Science, a major new learning solution designed to reimagine hands-on science for students aged approximately 5–14. The solution includes 120+ curriculum-aligned science lessons, teacher materials, and hands-on kits that help students explore real-world scientific concepts through investigation, building, and collaboration. The launch marked a significant expansion of LEGO Education’s science offering, with a strong emphasis on engagement, inclusion, and confidence-building in STEM subjects. Building on this momentum, in 2026 LEGO Education introduced LEGO Education Computer Science & AI, a next-generation learning solution designed to help schools teach computer science and artificial intelligence in an accessible, responsible, and hands-on way. Developed for K-8 learners, the solution supports collaborative learning and moves away from isolated, screen-based instruction—reflecting LEGO Education’s belief that students learn best when they build, explore, and code together. The launch also represents a strategic evolution of the product portfolio, following the planned retirement of the SPIKE™ range.

Role Purpose

The Vice President, Product Experience is a senior leader of leaders, responsible for the full product strategy across the K-8 portfolio. This role blends commercial ownership, deep education expertise, and strong organisational leadership across a complex cross-functional (helix) structure. You will guide a physical-first product portfolio with growing digital and AI-driven components. You will motivate and align teams who shift across projects, manage competing priorities, and balance workloads to meet ambitious timelines and ensure the right organisational capabilities to match both current as well as future operational needs.

Core responsibilities
  • Leadership & Organisational Impact: Role model great leadership, and lead, coach, and develop a multi-layered product organisation, ensuring leaders and teams stay motivated, aligned, and resilient. Provide clear direction in an environment that frequently shifts priorities, timelines, and cross-functional demands. Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, high performance, and psychological safety. Direct and influence a helix organisation where success depends on strong relationships with Engineering (software & firmware), Design (physical & digital), Educational Impact, Heads of Product, and the wider capability teams. Navigate, influence and manage a complex stakeholder landscape across the broader organization. As a member of the executive leadership team, build relationships and work effectively with peers to lead the end-to-end business.
  • Product Strategy & Ownership: Develop and communicate a clear long-term (5-7 year) strategy for product portfolio supported by critical digital components. Own P&L performance, ensuring products meet financial and impact goals. Use customer insight, market trends, and competitive intelligence to guide investment decisions.
  • Product Development & Execution: Oversee the end-to-end development of physical products, digital platforms, and hybrid learning experiences. Embed effective agile ways of working that support clarity, delivery, and adaptability. Drive responsible integration of emerging AI technologies into products and workflows.
  • Commercial & Market Impact: With executive leadership team peers, shape commercial propositions, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans. Oversee product efficacy, case building and research to identify impact on student learning and be a thought leader in children’s education and educational systems. Work closely with sales, marketing, and customer engagement teams to support adoption and retention. Maintain strong relationships with educators, school leaders, and education partners. Represent the brand and product portfolio as public speaker and brand ambassador with the aim to inspire partners, elevate brand reputation, and translate audience engagement into commercial momentum and business growth.
Must-have
  • Proven experience as a leader of leaders, managing managers, and senior specialists.
  • Strong track record motivating teams through shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and complex cross-functional work.
  • P&L ownership and strong commercial judgement.
  • Expertise in K-8 education product development, especially within physical or blended physical-digital experiences.
  • A clear point of view and practical experience with emerging AI and its application in education.
  • Either deep technical understanding or a strong track record of leading and influencing engineering teams.
  • Experience working in agile environments and across matrix/helix structures.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder skills.
  • Experience in a large to mid-size business operating within a larger corporate group is ideal.
  • Start-up experience will be considered with exemplary collaboration and influencing skills applied externally to produce results.
Nice-to-have
  • Knowledge of global K-8 markets is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with data, learning analytics, as well as student and teacher-facing UX.
What Success Looks Like
