Typesetter

As a Typesetter, you will play a crucial role in creating visually appealing and reader-friendly documents. Your responsibilities will include selecting and arranging typefaces, formatting text, and adjusting spacing to ensure the final product meets design standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Select appropriate typefaces and fonts for various documents
• Format text in accordance with design templates and specifications
• Adjust spacing between letters, lines, and paragraphs for optimal readability
• Collaborate with designers and editors to ensure consistent visual styles throughout documents
• Proofread and edit text to correct any typos or formatting errors
• Use specialized software to create digital layouts for print or web publications
• Stay updated on industry trends and new typesetting techniques

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Typesetter or similar role
• Proficiency in typography principles, including font selection and spacing techniques
• Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading skills
• Familiarity with design software such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred but not required
• Prior experience working with multilingual publications is a plus
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS for digital publishing is an advantage
