Job summary

University of Southern Denmark's Department of Clinical and Preventive Odontology invites two candidates for fixed-term appointments (2 years, up to 37 hours per week, with possible extension). The roles focus on building a new department and shaping upcoming education for dentists and dental hygienists.

Qualifications

• hold a degree in Dentistry
• have obtained a PhD degree
• hold Danish authorization to practice as a dentist, or meet the requirements for obtaining Danish authorization
• combine strong clinical competencies with a well-developed scientific and analytical mindset
• motivated to contribute actively to the development of a new dental department
• thrive in an interdisciplinary university environment
• possess strong collaborative and interpersonal skills
• documented teaching experience (advantage)
• experience with curriculum development (advantage)
• experience supervising students (advantage)
• experience from specialist training or other advanced areas of clinical expertise (advantage)

Responsibilities

• develop the new Dentistry and Dental Hygiene programmes, planned to start in the summer of 2027
• plan and develop courses and teaching activities
• teach at undergraduate and graduate levels
• teach dentistry and dental hygiene students
• develop clinical learning activities, simulation-based training, and competency-based education
• conduct student assessment and supervision
• collaborate with clinical instructors, private training clinics, and external partners
• develop the department’s teaching and learning environment
• pursue and implement research projects within clinical and preventive dentistry
• publish scientifically and disseminate findings
• develop national and international research collaborations
• secure external research funding and contribute to grant applications
