Job summary

DTU Compute’s Statistics and Data Analysis section invites applications for Associate Professor or Tenure Track Assistant Professor to strengthen the link between classical statistics and modern data science through teaching and research. The appointment is full-time with starting date 1 November 2026.

The candidate should hold a PhD, have a proven research record, and be prepared to teach and supervise BSc/MSc and PhD projects, while collaborating on industry and societal impact initiatives.

Qualifications

• PhD degree (or equivalent) in statistics or a closely related field.
• Experience in teaching and supervising BSc/MSc projects and PhD supervision.
• Strong background in classical statistics with interest in modern data science.
• Ability to engage in funded research projects with academia and industry.
• Fluent in Danish or English; capable of mastering both.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scientific research at the international level aligned with DTU’s vision.
• Teach courses at various levels.
• Develop and contribute to our research-based teaching portfolio at bachelor, master, and PhD levels.
• Supervise student projects at the bachelor and master level.
• Lead and participate in collaborative, funded research projects with academia and/or industry.
• Engage with industry and/or the public sector and engineering departments at DTU.
