Job summary

AALBORG UNIVERSITY (AAU) Energy is seeking student helpers to support the development of advanced magnetic components for high‑power applications. You will join an interdisciplinary team, contribute to design, prototype manufacturing and analysis, and participate in lab and reliability testing.

You will assist with electrical, electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical design, CAD modelling, FEA, and Python-based data work, while gaining hands-on experience with prototypes and testing in a research

Qualifications

• Relevant background in power electronics, electrical, electromechanical engineering or related field.
• Excellent teamwork and problem solving skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
• Experience with or interest in Python, CAD modelling or finite element analysis (FEA/FEM).
• Strong hands-on hardware skills; lab work or prototype manufacturing experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical, electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical design of magnetic components.
• Contribute to CAD modelling, finite element simulations, and Python-based data analysis or automation.
• Participate in prototype manufacturing, assembly and hands-on troubleshooting.
• Prepare, conduct and document laboratory and reliability tests, and analyse the results.
