Statistician
CMC PAT & Statistics
Måløv, Denmark, On-site

Start your career where new medicines and new ways of working are created.

Are you about to begin your career in applied statistics? Would you like to learn from experienced statisticians while working on some of Novo Nordisk's newest drug development projects?

In this role, you won't be maintaining established processes you'll help support the statistical work behind products, processes and analytical methods that are still being developed. You'll join a team of highly experienced statisticians who will coach and support you as you build your technical expertise and understanding of pharmaceutical development.

This role is intentionally designed for candidates at the beginning of their career who are motivated by learning, curiosity and professional development.

Your new role

As a Statistician in CMC Drug Product & Process Development, you'll support statistical analyses across product, process and analytical development while working closely with experienced colleagues.

You’ll gradually take on increasing responsibility as you develop your skills, but initially you'll receive guidance, coaching and feedback from senior statisticians and your manager. We don't expect you to know everything from day one—we're looking for someone who is eager to learn.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting statistical analyses for product, process and analytical method development together with experienced colleagues

  • Working closely with scientists to understand experimental data and contribute to statistical solutions

  • Applying statistical methods such as Design of Experiments, exploratory statistics and statistical modelling under guidance from senior statisticians

  • Preparing statistical reports and documentation while continuously improving through peer review and feedback

  • Communicating statistical results clearly to colleagues from different scientific backgrounds

  • Learning Novo Nordisk's statistical approaches, tools and ways of working while progressively becoming more independent

Your new department

You will join CMC PAT & Statistics, a department of approximately 45 colleagues supporting Novo Nordisk's drug development pipeline. Within the department, you'll become part of a close-knit team of statisticians who value knowledge sharing, collaboration and continuous learning.

Our work is different from supporting established manufacturing. We work with new molecules, new processes and new analytical methods where there often isn't a predefined answer. Together, we help shape future standards and ways of working. As a junior statistician, you'll contribute to this journey while learning from colleagues with many years of experience.

Your skills & qualifications

We're looking for someone who is motivated by learning, enjoys solving problems together with others and is excited about applying statistics in practice.

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • A Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or another quantitative discipline with a strong statistical foundation

  • Recently graduated or have a short period of relevant professional experience

  • Strong analytical thinking and a genuine curiosity about understanding scientific problems

  • The confidence to ask questions, seek feedback and continuously learn from experienced colleagues

  • Good communication skills and an interest in collaborating with people from different scientific disciplines

  • A structured and detail-oriented approach to your work

We do not expect prior experience from the pharmaceutical industry. Your motivation to learn and develop is more important than extensive industry experience.

Experience with one or more of the following is considered an advantage:

  • SAS for Windows and SAS JMP

  • R and/or Python

  • GIT

As a person you are someone who:

  • Is excited about building your career in applied statistics

  • Learns quickly by observing, asking questions and putting feedback into practice

  • Enjoys collaborating rather than working alone

  • Is curious about new scientific challenges and comfortable working in an environment where not everything is defined from the beginning

  • Wants to contribute to developing new solutions—not simply maintaining existing ones

  • Appreciates structure while also enjoying the uncertainty that comes with innovation and early-stage development

This role is an excellent fit for someone looking for their first or second professional role after completing a Master's degree.
