Job summary

Databricks is seeking a software engineer with a backend focus to build scalable infrastructure for the Databricks platform. You will join a team that covers compute fabric resource management to service platforms and ML infrastructure, delivering impact across geographies and cloud providers.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and contribute to technical documentation while delivering robust distributed backend systems using Java, Scala, or Go, with Kubernetes and cloud

Qualifications

8+ years of professional software development experience.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in backend languages such as Java, Scala, or Go.
Hands-on experience in developing and operating large-scale, distributed backend systems.
Demonstrated leadership across project phases and architectural decisions.
Experience mentoring engineers and fostering collaboration.
Self-driven with a focus on impact through teamwork.
Strong written and verbal communication to drive alignment and documentation.
Experience with infrastructure systems, security, and cloud platforms (Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP).

Responsibilities

Build foundational infrastructure platforms enabling operation across multiple regions and cloud providers.
Develop cloud-agnostic infrastructure abstractions for efficient service management.
Create tools and processes to improve engineering efficiency, with a focus on Rust development.
